“zero and infinity are two sides of the same coin — equal and opposite… ‘Multiply zero by anything and you get zero. Multiply infinity by anything and you get infinity. Dividing a number by zero yields infinity; dividing a number by infinity yields zero. Adding zero to a number leaves the number unchanged. Adding a number to infinity leaves infinity unchanged.’” – William C. Gough, Mar 2002

“In matters of style swim with the current; In matters of principle, stand like a rock.” ~Thomas Jefferson
Never be afraid to be alone. “Me time” is necessary to reflect on yourself; and,… it is a natural part of human metamorphosis. Look at yourself; but, don’t be too critical. Love yourself; but, don’t become too vain. Enjoy yourself; but, not to the point of hedonism. Induldge yourself; but, don’t be gluttonous. Discipline yourself; but, don’t try to become a martyr. And, finally, just be yourself and like it.
~ Robert Miller

“My pain may be the reason for somebody’s laugh. But my laugh must never be the reason for somebody’s pain.”

– Charlie Chaplin

“And the way to get to the top of the heap in terms of developing original research is to be a fool, because only fools keep trying.  You have idea number 1, you get excited, and it flops. Then you have idea number 2, you get excited, and it flops. Then you have idea number 99, you get excited and it flops.  Only a fool would be excited by the 100th idea, but it might take 100 ideas before one really pays off. Unless you’re foolish enough to be continually excited, you won’t have the motivation, you won’t have the energy to carry it through.” – M. Hellman

Compassion hurts. When you feel connected to everything, you also feel responsible for everything. You cannot turn away. Your destiny is bound to the destinies of others. You must either learn to carry the Universe or be crushed by it. You must grow strong enough to love the world, yet empty enough to sit down at the same table with its worst horrors.”
–Andrew Boyd

To be creative means to be in love with life. You can be creative only if you love life enough that you want to enhance its beauty, you want to bring a little more music to it, a little more poetry to it, a little more dance to it. -Osho

This is what rituals are for. We do spiritual ceremonies as human beings in order to create a safe resting place for our most complicated feelings of joy or trauma, so that we don’t have to haul those feelings around with us forever, weighing us down. We all need such places of ritual safekeeping. And I do believe that if your culture or tradition doesn’t have the specific ritual you are craving, then you are absolutely permitted to make up a ceremony of your own devising, fixing your own broken-down emotional systems with all the do-it-yourself resourcefulness of a generous plumber/poet.
― Elizabeth Gilbert

“The path of compassion does not obligate you to love people regardless of how they act or who they are. It is a path of seeing the truth of who people are, acknowledging all their parts, their humanness as well as divinity. It is the path of looking at people and asking, “is there anything I can do to heal, assist, or bring them in touch with their higher vision?” If there is not, then you are pulling down your own energy by spending time with them.”
– Sanaya Roman

“The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence.” – Nikola Tesla
